9/17 AKB48 Janken Taikai Yukirin News Roundup
The 5th AKB48 Janken Taikai took place on Sept 17 at Nippon Budokan. AKB,SKE, NMB and HKT members took part. The winner this time gets a solo debut, while remaining senbatsu members will get a coupling song on the single. Just like last year, Yukirin chose to wear an outfit from her drama. This year, she’s a hostess in Kurofuku Monogatari so this meant, she wore a rather revealing dress, very sexy! Yukirin’s first round match was against Team B’s Hashimoto Hikari. As a surprise, Sasaki Nozomi who is the heroine in the drama appeared as a guest! Two sexy ladies on stage! Yukirin beat Hikari in Round 1 to face off Team 8’s Honda Hitomi in Round 2. After winning Round, she faced Sayanee in Round 3 for the opportunity to be in senbatsu. Right after beating Sayanee, Yukirin apologized to Sayanee. Yukirin actually made to Best 16!!! Sadly, she was unable to move further as she lost to Team B’s Sayaya in Round 1 of Best 16.
Miruki eventually won, beating Kojiharu. Following the win, a special announcement was made regarding AKB48’s 38th single. The senbatsu members were announced. The 38th single will be centered by Mayu and HKT48’s Sakura. It will feature 32 members including Yukirin. Because of the long list of members, Yukirin’s name was announced rather late. The 38th single will be released on November 26, 2014.
Following the tournament, Yukirin wrote on 755 and answered a few questions.
Yukirin mentioned she thought her name wouldn’t be called for the 38th single.
She was asked why she apologized to Sayanee. Yukirin said it’s cause she wanted Sayanee to solo debut. She felt like she robbed an important opportunity from the juniors.
(You can definitely see from Yukirin’s reaction when she beat Sayanee that she almost didn’t want it to happen)
Yukirin also mentioned about why she doesn’t declare her desires.

First of Congrats to Yuki for getting into the best 16 of the Janken and making the coupling song! 🙂
And not many apart from Yukirin would be sad to win but I guess that’s our Yuki, thinking of other before herself and I think it’s sweet that she felt sad for Sayaka. This also ties in with what she says about her desires too, it all comes back to her wanting the best for others over herself…
So she mentioned that she felt her name would not be called, if you ask me it is a sorry state of affairs that a member like Yukirin could think this, I bet similar thoughts did not go through any other member’s mind who is around Yuki in stature, it might just be a passing comment from Yuki and mean not very much but it still saddens me to see it…
Especially when I feel as though this would of been a nice chance for her to double center with Mayu, I have nothing against Sakura, in fact she is a favorite of mine and I’m super happy for her I really am…… But it also felt like a great, perhaps last, chance for Yuki and it saddens me that she was passed over again, I honestly think she deserves better within AKB…..
You are right Will, now that you mention it it is really worrying that Yukirin admitted to worrying about not being called at all!
I mean she is like No.3! No.3 in the whole group and she worries not being in a single! What has the world come to? Then again, in the Yukirin world, this was a long time coming. Just imagine if she wasn’t in the Kami7 or even senbatsu anymore

how can yukirin declare her desire, when all her life in akb its always pressed & pushed away to the outside of akb when she just wanna do something useful for akb.
after saw the calling for 38th single, makes me even wondering, was yukirin’s luck inside akb really that hard? or is yukirin really that unworthy in akip’s eyes beside just sucking her fans money?
