Yukirin Daruma Penlight ゆきりんだるまペンライト

Finally got my Yukirin 3rd Solo Live Goods.   My favourite is definitely the penlight, it’s so cute and the colours are so pretty. Shot a  quick video with my cellphone showing the penlight and the colours. There are 8 colours total, the orange doesn’t come out well.  ...

“Awaiting Yukirin’s New Meaning of Existence” (Eng Trans)

Started to translate the mobame from last week when this article from Nikkan Sports propped up on November 21. Fairly short and meaningful. Please have a read. “Awaiting Yukirin’s New Meaning of Existence” Live Report from Morimoto Takahashi (Nikkan Sports) I went and covered the solo concert of AKB48’s Kashiwagi Yuki. The location is Kanagawa’s Yokohama Arena which can accomodate 10,000 people. It is a place where many singers aim to fill on their own. According to staff, the concert was sold out the day before. The few tens of tickets that went on sale prior to the concert was also sold out. Not counting the 2,000 seats that were given out via lottery, the concert drew 8,000 people. The substantiality of Kashiwagi’s solo activities opened my eyes. Last July, her first solo performance had 2,000 people. The one in April at Tokyo International Forum gathered 5,000 people. And this time it has doubled, successfully increasing the audience size. Singing skills and star power continue to go up and up. Although I went as the main writer’s assistant, I forgot to open my computer as I watched the concert. It dawned on me, shouldn’t Kashiwagi also consider graduating from AKB48? There is a group of people that considers “Successful Solo activities = Sign of Graduation”. At the election 3 years ago, Kashiwagi vowed to be an idol forever. Is it ok if she stay as a lifetime member of AKB48? Perhaps, the thought of “AKB48 is a stepping stone towards their dream” lingers. That is the reason behind this year’s graduates, Shinoda Mariko, Akimoto Sayaka and Itano Tomomi. But, as one of the figurehead of AKB48, isn’t it fine to continue the activities? On this point, I therefore hope Kashiwagi can create a new meaning of existence within AKB48. That is my one little wish as a resident of “Yukirin World”. Yukirin can truly wow people with her skills. As she said in her concert, by the end, you will all become a resident of Yukirin World. Seems like she at least got one reporter. 11/07 Yukirin 3rd Solo Live News Roundup

Setlist http://kashiwagiyukirin.com/2013/11/06/1677/ News Summary 10,000 people packed Yokohama Arena on 11/7 to attend Yukirin’s 3rd Solo Live. Early bees started lining up for concert goods before 10am. By noon, fans were reporting 200-300 people in line. Staff were only starting to setup the sale tent at that time. The arena opened the doors at 18:07 and fans enter into the lobby area. They were greeted by flower baskets from tv stations, artists, AKB48 etc., that lined all along the hallway. Official Concert Start Time: 19:09 Official Concert End Time: 21:58 (source: https://twitter.com/YokohamaArena) Yukirin performed 26 songs (5 with French Kiss members) during the 2 hours 49 minutes concert.  The support band is the same from Yukrin’s 1st and 2nd Live.  During the concert, there were various VTRs and of course MCs. Yukirin started the concert by descending from the top of the arena, in the middle, in a wedding gown singing to Birthday wedding. The middle stage was rotating round stage. Yukirin played the guitar while singing to Rainy Day, she learned and practiced it for 2 months. Yukirin appeared with Akicha and Mocchi and performed 5 French Kiss songs for the encore.   MCs Summary During the MCs, Yukirin talked about various things, paraphrased below: – Things that I wanted to do, I went ahead and did them – The previous lives were via lottery only, this time is different so there are people here who may not be my fan, but I will definitely change you into a Yukirin World resident by the time you leave – Anata to Watashi is the first song ever that I wrote the lyrics for, while thinking about what type of music and what I want to express in words the most, I decided to convey it to the fans. Did you guys receive it? – I chose Skirt Hirari because I wanted to shock everyone. – It’s like a miracle, but no, miracle is not a good word to describe it. Everyone opened the path for me. Today cannot simply be said as a miracle, instead it was decided by fate/destiny. Fans are always so warm. I would like to thank the residents of Yukirin World that aren’t here. In the future, I would like to become someone where people are glad that they supported Kashiwagi Yuki. Everyone’s dream is my dream, my dream is thanks to all of you. As long as you all want me to sing, I will continue to keep singing. – There’s something I’ve always...

1 Day to Yukirin’s 3rd Solo Live

Yukirin’s 3rd Solo Live is less than 24 hours away. It’s so exciting eventhough I’m not even attending. hehe A fan passed by Yokohama Arena tonight, staff are getting things ready for tomorrow’s concert with boxes of goods (possibly) lining the wall. Barriers are already set up outside. ゆきりんソロコン・情報 下見なう 物販らしき箱が一階に見えますね。 近くに、セブンイレブンと、デイリーヤマザキのコンビニ2軒ありました。 pic.twitter.com/T0JFnGpeOq — gabin@ゆきりん3rdソロコン下見 (@gabinjun) November 6, 2013 Also, the drummer posted a pic. Looks like they are doing end stage configuration. きょうは長くなりそう。。 pic.twitter.com/ojRtxPOctn — 江口信夫 NOBUO EGUCHI (@nobdrum58) November 6, 2013 I will be posting the setlist in real time on here as well as on Twitter! I wonder what AKB songs Yukirin will be including this time. Probably Koisuru Fortune Cookie? She sang both election single songs in the past two concerts. Also, don’t forget about the French Kiss countdown. It ends at 21:00 JST.   About 3 weeks ago, fans inquired to Watanabe Ent, which redirected to AVEX, about sending flower baskets to Yukirin at Yokohama Arena, similar to what they did last year, but AVEX denied the request. As such, fans sent the flower baskets to Watanabe Ent’s office instead. Fans really wanted to give Yukirin well wishes. Here are some pictures: source:...

10/19 Koisuru Fortune Cookie Yukirin Handshake Report

I will post my full handshake report later, below is just Yukirin’s part for now. The ones for Haruu and Miyupon needs editing. I also want to write about the sendoff for Sae and Nacchan at the end of the event which I participated. The handshake event was at Pacifico Yokohama. My hotel was really close by so it was a convenient walk over to the event. I had handshake tickets for Yukirin in Rounds 2, 4, 5 & 6. Round 3 is when most of the members are on break.   I was rather nervous at the beginning as we were lining up in the waiting area prior to Round 2. My stomach was actually hurting for a bit. The waiting area was next to the goods lane area so there were lots of people and not a lot of space. I was surprised how nervous I got. Luckily, Yukirin’s line is always long and it gave me a lot of time to settle myself before it was time to meet her in Round 2. Yukirin was in Lane 97. Harukyan was in Lane 96 and Miichan was in the Lane 98. If there are certain things you want to say, you have to think ahead of time and be ready since you really only get about 8 secs. You can’t really go in with long sentences either or you’ll run out of time. I also find my Japanese grammar goes out the door when talking to them. LOL Yukirin started Round 2 about 20 minutes late.  I wasn’t nervous by the time it was my turn. Round 2 (I walked in and noticed what Yukirin was wearing. She’s wearing a tie! Holds Yukirin hands. OMG! I get to see Yukirin again!!!) M: Good Morning! Y: Good Morning! (She had a nice smile, not the typical big big smile) M: I’m from Canada Y: Ehhhh (typical Yukirin reaction) M: It’s been a year! Y: wow (cute smile) M: I missed you! (hehe) Y: (Yukirin took away one hand and gave me thumbs up) (Times Up!) M: See you later! (waves bye bye) Y: (waves) It was obvious Yukirin was really tired, I had read earlier reports from Round 1 about Yukirin’s condition. As a fan, it kinda hurts to see your oshi so tired yet still giving their all to their fans. After Yukirin, I went to see Miyupon in Round 2. Round 4 (Yukirin seems to have rested a bit during the break and seems perkier) M:...

Yokohama Arena

Less than a week to go to Yukirin’s 3rd Solo Live! Since I wouldn’t be able to attend, I went and visited Yokohama Arena during my trip!   Outside Yokohama Arena is of course the event schedule…   Yukirin’s official website has updated that blocked view seats and additional seats will be going on sale 11/6, it’s last minute so I hope it means that ticket sales went well and they decided to open up more tickets for sale. I wonder which stage configuration her concert will be. Regardless, i’m sure it’ll be awesome. From the Sukkiri clip, it looks like the band will be the same as the first two live, Team Yukiring is back. Can’t...
